Heart

cardiology;

‘an abnormality of the functioning of the autonomic (involuntary) nervous system,’

another one;

a condition common

with my co-morbidities,

nothing I’d not guessed

we already do much of what they say I should,

I laugh during the tests;

“Don’t get up too fast,” he says

smiling knowingly – as if I could,

and we wheel away,

the day is bright,

we eat and take in art

so this day will be remembered

for its light, not the gruesome parts

for, until recently, I thought one thing in me

was strong; the system and working of my heart.

It seems this system too is shaky

But the will to love and live is not.

      Thank you for your kindness! Another diagnosis today, neither welcome nor unexpected because it often comes with gubbins we already know I have . Poems help me process. πŸ™‚

    That’s all you can do, is celebrate the light whenever the opportunity arises. That tree is a wonderful symbol of your will to love and live.
