Mermaid up a Mountain:
Dysfunctional polymath, renaissance woman,
Mermaid walking up the great mountain,
The things I was told I can’t but found I can,
We learn to drink from our own fountain,
I have faith and I have faith in science
But don’t believe either is always objective,
Humankind can twist any notion to violence,
Any knowledge is translated by perspective,
I’m a cynic but hope is my primary drive,
Though peace, justice and love can fail
We can become these things while alive,
We sing for the wind to fill up our sail,
I, home-body, traveler, free-spirit, wife,
Peace-seeker, fierce one, story-weaver,
I’ve learned to mistrust the clichés of life
As a sceptic, quester, inquirer, believer.
