You are not alone, a cliché but true,
though it sounds like another platitude
beneath which judgement or indifference lies,

yet, when sincere, this phrase can catalyse

threads spun across oceans, footsteps on the moon …

It is true, it’s not always those around you
who understand, but elsewhere others do,
if you open up, let your worlds collide,
you are not alone.

Whatever loss or pain you’re going through
there are others who know or feel it too;
each experience begets its own tribe,
I can’t erase your hurts or time your tides,
but I’ll reach through clocks and wires to tell you
you are not alone.
