Burning injustices increase
amid brawls over boundary lines,
the years of rising poverty
made worse when high-risk deals are signed,
burning injustices
scorch streets, homes, families,
I recall promises
such wrongs would be eased,
burning in just
cause, communities
like scattered dust
seared by the lies,
burning
hives enrage bees –
it is ourselves we sting,
burning injustices increase,
We will burn these injustices,
we burn inside until we do,
gathering sparks accomplish this
illumination for renewal,
We will burn these in just
cause, laws of corruption
that gag us with bias
and warp our decisions –
We will burn these
with intellect,
acts, and mercies
of shared respect,
we will,
with our will, ease
these dangers and perils;
we will burn these injustices.
