Lured
They wait
As lies fold
Up a fortress
Of paper towels
To fight the furling rain,
Gusting like old promises
To race the edge of reasoning,
We are the blurring syntax written,
Ruched towers tear the torrents beginning.

Transparent petals
Offer nectar to the wings,
Stalks direct the globe.
Life
between
sheets of dreams
knowing none know
where my tides convene
at breaker’s edge, the brow
transformed in the under-toe;
Pain goes in, love comes out.
